From listening as a teenager I have grown up with your music and am still today a loyal fan. I have only seen you perform live once in 2003 at Skegness but it was an amazing experience for me. What can I say....Five Star were a huge influence on my life. System

Five Stars 'Luxury of Life' and 'Silk and steel' albums are more like soundtracks for me than regular albums. They are the two that i grew up to listening to the most - at school christmas parties, discos, at home , on holidays - their sweet harmonies and cutting dance tracks were always playing in the back ground.

 

I remember reading the lyrics to the slightest touch in 'smash hits' through a maths class and me and my mates listebing to them on the old brick style walkmans lol at school - hidden in thee pages of text books - pretending to be learining maths but really learning the words to the song lol and getting caught and having my magazine and album/ walkman confiscated until end of class - (the beeatch bet she wanted to listen to it herself lol)

 

Your music is sorely missed in the charts today - hope your material goes all the way to the top. We miss you.

All I know is that from when I first saw you on Pebble Mill all those years ago (makes me feel so old now!) it changed my life!!

Never before had I seen such energy and talent. Those tight knit dance moves and funky sounds paved the way for British dance groups. You helped pave the way for the likes of Take That and the Spice Girls. You were the original and the best!!

You showed me that if you worked hard enough for what you wanted you could get it. You were and are positive role models and you helped me believe in myself.

Your music is hugely underrated and you deserved your Brit award fror Best British group in '87.

What can I say? Five Star were the first act to get me interested in music. At the age of ten I hassled my Mum and Dad to buy me 'The Slightest Touch' on 7" and because they were sick of me playing 'The Slightest Touch' and my sister's 7" of 'Stay out of my Life' I got my own (& first) record player for my 10th birthday.

 

I remember Christmas day 1987 being my happiest day as I had two Five Star presents - 'Between the Lines' on cassette and 'Silk & Steel - the video collection' on VHS - Now I am 28 and Five Star are still my favourite group. I remember being teased at school in 1989 & 1990 for still liking FIve Star and for buying all their records/tapes & CDs but I didn't care - I loved them!

Writing to Five Star. Where do you start..? Five Star’s music forms as much a part of my life today as it did back in the times of Luxury of Life. How exciting times were then; racing to Liverpool to get their new releases or special editions. Five Star’s music has been with me through some of my favourite moments of life, and also some of my worst. I’m happy, and proud that they’re my favourite band of all time. As a fully fledged adult, I just wish for greater success now, and would love to be able to play a part in making that happen.

 Some may say it’s sad, but Five Star mean as much to me today as they did in 1987. There are so many memories I could share: moments from Stone Court, from concerts; the people I’ve met; moments I’ve shared with the group themselves; speaking with Lorraine on the phone, corresponding with Delores – all so vivid, and all so special.

Hi Five Star ...

I recently met Denice and Stedman at the recent Delta Radio Interview and

I'm delighted to feel even more of a Five Star fan than ever, they truly

were lovely warm people!

I first loved Five Star music beats when RSVP came out and I was shocked by

how the tune was nothing like I'd heard before. I bought the 7 in disc and

played it to death. Then out came System Addict and everyone joined in the

party!

 

My friends and I used to have Five Star parties in my bedroom, the

floorboards were too happy as we continued our dance routine practises....

god knows how my parents didn't know I was gay then I'll never know!!!

 

The biggest suprise ever was my parents agreeing to take me and my best

friend Daniel to the Wembly concert. We'd never been to London and were more

than excited, we drove my parents insane with Five Star all the way to and

from the concert (they loved it really!)

The concert totally blew us away! Some poor man had to take turns in give us

shoulder carries at the front so we could see everything. So loved it all!!!

 

Then when the concert came out on Video, it was the night I was in the

audience and all I wanted for Xmas. I mean ALL I wanted and god knows if I

didn't get it Xmas was gonna be hell for all around. Thankfully I got it and

in the audience if you look closely, there's me going wild!!!

 

Anyway always loved them, saw them at G.A.Y and couldn't believe the power

and energy was there even more so than ever. I got the Eclipse album too.

OOH MY GOD how great is that?!?

 

Well I say thanks to Five Star.... you've always had what I want in music

and performance, so powerful!!!!!

I've been a fan of Five star since 1985 when I first saw their clip " All fall down" and have been a fan ever since. I have followed youre carreer all the way, at least try to follow because it was not easy since I could hardly find some things about them. Living in West Africa ( Ivory Coast), it was a bit difficult for me to follow youre carreer. As soon as I was seeing a video of you guys I knew they had released something new and by this time as my elder sister was living in France, I was asking her to buy me youre tapes. It is only when I travelled to Brighton in 1997 that I completed most of my collection on them at some Sunday markets!

 

I love everything from You : youre music, youre style, youre dance routines, youre beauty, youre brotherhood, and I like singing some of youre songs I know by heart! and I have to say that I amaze people when I perform youre songs in karaokés...

Also I am suprised Five Star does not have a major recording contract, the radio really sucks without you guys on the air. Five Star

What more can I say, you all have been an integral part of my life

for so many years. I look back over the years and it brings joy to my

heart remembering the late nights looking out for your videos, personal

appearances, interviews, etc., I laugh now, but that was the life of a

teenager. Then rushing to our local mom and pop record store to find

your new releases and wondering what your new songs sounded like and how

you all have changed your look. I think there was one time in

particular that I was actually surprised by Five Star and that was when

"Someone's In Love" was released in the US. I remember it vividly, Oct 1988,

my first semester in college, I walk down to the local record store to

find the 12" and I'm looking through the racks and they tell me it's

there but I say I don't see it. I continue flipping through passing by

this one 12" with rocks all over it, the five people on the front are

dressed in black leather, boots, etc., and there's a blonde there.... Of

course I pass it by, because I only have images of Five Star in my head

from the "Strong As Steel" video to rely on, so clearly that wasn't

them. This is the first time ever, I think, I asked for assistance, then

I say can you please show me the new Five Star single and the

salesperson says, here it is and hands it to me, I stare and say Oh My God and I

stand there, I know for about 10 minutes staring and thinking oh yeah,

Five Star you got me! :-)!

 

But at any rate, Five Star you are a blessing to us all and I thank

God for you all. You all have touched so many lives and have guided so

many paths. Your light shines so brightly from within that the whole

world cannot help but notice. Continue being the light of the world

Five Star and continue to trust in God.

 

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not

unto thine own understanding. In all thy way acknowledge Him and He

shall direct thy paths. Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to

them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

Five Star, God has a plan for your life and no matter what you go

through, know that He is in contol and know that you can trust in Him and

he will provide for you. I pray that you all are well and I am

fervently praying that the entire Pearson family confesses the Lord Jesus

Christ as their Lord and Savior and become saved. This is my prayer for

you all. Christ is the way, He is the answer and it is my prayer that

all reading this will be saved as well. I love you all!
