Chapter Three

THE NINETEEN NINETIES

In 1990 their first new song of the decade "Treat me like a Lady" was released on the new label "Epic" reaching #54 This single was special as it was their first release recorded in their newly built £1 Million recording Studio at their home in Royal Berkshire. It was also the first single to be released featuring someone other than lead vocalist "Denise" for this track , choreographer sister Doris took lead.

In February of this year their second single "Hot Love" was released, again written by and sung by Doris. This was performed on "Wogan" in February of this year with an even more adult and sexier individual look and an exclusive 20 minute interview, this track reached #60. Soon their self titled album "Five Star" was also released in December but only in the USA.

Around this time Five star needed a break from all the recent publicity and moved to America....LA.

They took a break and in 1991 released their title album track called "Shine" in October making it to #88 and the "Shine" Album album in December, the video for "Shine" was one of their best yet.

Five Star took another break that gave them the chance to get on with their private and family lives in LA for a few years. Denise got married in 1993 had two Children,a son in 94 and a Daughter in 95. Then in July 1995 they returned to the UK on a promotional visit to promote their new single "I Love you for Sentimentel Reasons" a cover of the"Nat King Cole" and with a video directed by "Malcolm Jammal Warner", aka "Theo Huxtable" from TV's "Cosby Show", this track reached #84, and was their first track taken from their new upcoming album, "Heart and Soul".

In July 1995 Five Star done some press for "I love you for sentimental reasons"

appearing on tv and in th press and performin at G.A.Y. Astoria club in London,in July.

In October this year "I give you give" was released this one was also a"Doris" written/lead vocals track....for this Five star did a lot of TV,Radio, and press and appeared at "The Clothes Show" for BBC1..and played some P.A.'s..Denise was due to have her second baby,so it was Stedman,Doris,Lorraine and Delroy this time round.

"I Give you Give" was released 3 times and was a big club hit!, reaching #83 in regular charts. "Surely" was released also this year but only in the USA, this too was a big underground club hit. Again this was a track written and sung by Doris, making it the fourth track released in the 90s to be written and sung by Doris.

In November came the release of "Heart and soul" this album was very R&B flavoured. In 1996 a remix of "I give you give is released" ,again the R and B proving very popular with alot of fans.

1997 Denise records a duet with "Matt goss" formerly of "Bros".

Some of their older tracks are re-recorded along with some new tracks.

While Stedman,Doris and Lorraine return to England, leaving Denise and Delroy still living in LA.

1998 Tentrecords goes online. Merchandise is available through this site. Run by the family themselves. Denise becomes single again after her divorce.

By 1999 Five star are recording the new album "Eclipse"...
